That’s right, were on Isla Floreana today with a whopping population of 100 (give or take).  This island does have a giant tortoise, not quite farm, not really refuge either, but a place where they can live safely and happily up in the mountains.  This was our main event of the day with some snorkeling later on.  It was rainy up in the highlands, but warmer down near the ocean.

This seemed to be another wildlife focused day, mostly because there was probably more wildlife on the island than there were people.  That’s beside the point though.  This was an island with a lot of natural variation that allowed for some pretty cool scenes.  We even got to see some old lava tube formations up in the highlands too.

Have you been to Floreana?  What did you think of it?  Would you go back?
