LOOKING TO VISIT HUASHAN 1914 CREATIVE PARK IN TAIPEI?

The Huashan 1914 Creative park in Taipei was something I didn’t know about until we were on our way there.  We happened to be in the neighborhood for who knows what and decided we should go.

Our experience at Huashan 1914 Creative Park

Thankfully it was a weekend so there was more going on than usual.  The shops and stands were bustling with people and the street performers had a solid crowd going.

There were a ton of little retail areas with things made by local artists, which was all really fun to look at.  I had to use a lot of self-control to stop myself from buying approximately everything.

We got to watch some 3D printing and saw an upside down house that we, unfortunately, couldn’t go in because we were a few minutes too late.

We ended up spending a whole afternoon here than having a few mojitos at one of the restaurants there.

I think it was a good way to spend a day, instead of out in the cold and rain.  I would definitely recommend it but go on a weekend if you can.

The park used to be a winery but was turned into the multipurpose park that it is today.

It’s a haven for artists featuring little markets and hip dining options.  It was a really fun way to spend an afternoon just wandering around.

When we were leaving we couldn’t find the MRT station and asked someone for directions and he ended up walking us to the entrance!

What is now the Huashan 1914 Creative Park started out as a Taihoku Winery during Japanese rule. In 1987 the factory moved due to pollution and in 1997, the Golden Bough Theater Group barged in and staged a production when it was set for demolition.

Meander Taipei – I stayed here and absolutely loved it! They have dorms and private rooms and it was so good for meeting people without being a party hostel. It’s near Ximending.
