Exploring Burr Trail

I’m just going to warn you now, you’re going to be reading a lot about Burr Trail.  It’s close to Bullfrog, so I’m on it a lot, and it’s just super pretty.  This was my first time driving down it on my own, all the way to Capitol Reef.

I left with the intentions of going Geocaching, but I liked how it looked down the road, so I stopped for a couple pictures.  I figured why not just keep going?  So I did.  I did not go Geocaching that day, and I actually still have not six months later.  Oops.

This was more of a drive just to see the trail with minimal exploring.  I stopped a few times to wander out onto the rocks a bit, but nothing too crazy.  I don’t even know how many times the scenery changes along this first paved  section of Burr.  It has to be five or six times.

As you drive away from Bullfrog, towards Capitol Reef, you have Bullfrog Creek to the right and Halls Creek to the left.  There are only two marked trail along this first section of Burr, Pedestal Alley and Halls Creek Overlook.  Both are pretty cool, but don’t be afraid to wander along washes.  They lead to some pretty cool stuff.  Just be careful and bring lots of water, especially in the heat of summer.

Have you been on Burr Trail?  What did you think of it?  Do you want to see it?
