There have been a few places this year where I wasn’t sure if I was on Mars or the Moon or here on Earth.  This felt a little like the moon, at least if you were looking down at the rock under your feet.

This was some canyon that winds along the side of Highway 95, which is totally worth a drive, even if you can’t make any stops.  It’s super pretty and I almost miss it already.  Almost.

Depending on where you are along this canyon it can be five feet deep or a couple hundred.  I think sometimes there is water flowing, at least a little bit, along the bottom, but it was dry both times I was there, at different sections both times.

Even if you don’t have time to wander around and explore, it’s wort ha stop to just look at the vastness of the hole in the ground in front of you.  Ok, so it’s not exactly a hole, but you know what I mean.

I don’t have a whole lot to say about it. Just stop.  See it.  Explore.  I could probably spend a month exploring this highway alone.  There are so many roads winding off to the sides, hills to climb, canyons to descend, and rattlesnakes to see.  Yes, I saw my first rattlesnakes round here, but that’s maybe for another day.
