Visiting Snake Alley in Taipei

I don’t have a lot to say about this, I just wanted to share some pictures from Taipei that don’t really belong anywhere else.  Like usual, I wandered around, drank coffee, took pictures of lanterns, and tried snake blood.  Oh yeah, I drank snake blood one night.

I meandered back to Snake Alley with a different friend and we contemplated whether or not we should do it.  I was leaning towards no and we left, but before we got too far I said no, we have to do it otherwise I’ll chicken out.

We went back to figure out which place to go to and eventually decided on one that was about 200 TWD.  We split that so it wasn’t too much, and lets be real, I don’t want to drink that much snake stuff.  There was also bile, venom, ginseng, wine, and some medicine thing, followed by soup and some kind of maybe fish oil thing.

It wasn’t as horrible as I was making myself think it would be.  I’m glad I made myself do it.  I wouldn’t do it again, though.  Once is plenty.  Other than that, it was a pretty average day.

Have you been to Taipei?  What did you think of it?  Have you tried snake blood?
