It’s no secret that I love Latin America.  Mexico, Central America, South America, I’m a fan of it all.  It’s my favorite region to travel in and I can’t wait to go back and see more of it.

There are so many great places to go in Mexico since it’s so huge and has so many amazing things to do and see.  So, instead of going there right now, I’m going to read and share some of the best books set in Mexico.

Admittedly, Spain isn’t the top of my bucket list.  However, after reading a few books set in Spain, I know it will crawl its way up my list.  I’ve compiled this list of Spain travel books, Spain memoirs, novels set in Spain, Spanish non-fiction, and more.

Basically, everything you could look for in books about Spain.  So grab a pot of coffee, sit back, and get that Kindle out (or however you read, no judgment here) and get reading!

I think I’ve mentioned previously, somewhere, that I will read almost any book about Paris or India, but I also love reading books about people walking obscene distances, like along the entire Nile River or across the Gobi Desert, so here I am today sharing some of the best books about people walking long distances with you.

There are a couple in here that are primarily walking, but also include other human-powered methods like biking, running, or canoeing. If you want some more outdoorsy books, check out my national park novel list too!

My Post

I am obsessed with Chernobyl.  I’ve always loved watching anything I can about it and reading anything I can find online, but it wasn’t until recently that I thought about looking for actual books about Chernobyl.

Once I realized books about Chernobyl were a thing, I mean, why wouldn’t they be, I scoured Goodreads for as many as I could find, which it turns out isn’t all that many.  I do know that I want to read all kinds of these Chernobyl books now.

My Post

A few years ago I found the first book in this list, My Holiday in North Korea, at Barnes and Noble and I had to get it.  First, because it was on that perfect, thick glossy paper.  Second, because it just sounded good.

Later I found myself watching anything I could find about North Korea on Netflix, which wasn’t much, and now I’m back on a search for the best books about North Korea to read over the summer.

My Post

There are three things I will read almost any book about: Paris, India, and Mount Everest.  So, for today’s post, we’re going to see 35 of the best books about Mount Everest, K2, and the Himalayas.

I’ve read a few of these and have a bunch saved on Scribd to read hopefully this summer. A lot of these books are about similar events, the 1996 Everest disaster, and the August 2008 K2 disaster but there are plenty of other mountaineering books out there, too.

I’ve decided to switch things up a bit around here.  Along with travel, I’m going to be doing more book posts.  Don’t worry, the focus and priority will still be travel and the outdoors, but I love reading just as much and want to share that too, so expect some book posts interspersed in the future.
