It’s no secret that I love Latin America.  Mexico, Central America, South America, I’m a fan of it all.  It’s my favorite region to travel in and I can’t wait to go back and see more of it.

My First Time Alone in a Foreign Airport

I was not prepared for this heat, that’s for sure. I got off the plane, finally pulled together after hours of nerves and was ushered into the customs and immigration line with everyone else. Everything was fine. My first time traveling alone was going smooth and then I was waved forward. It was my turn. I was asked the usual questions as I handed over my passport.

Lizard Spotting At The Tulum Ruins

Tulum was the second ruin site I visited on my trip, also in Mexico, and they were totally different than Coba.  These were all open and oceanfront.  I have to say, I liked Coba better.  It felt a lot more adventurous.  BUT I saw way more wildlife at Tulum.  And by way more, I mean there were lizards everywhere.  But guess what?  I’m a horrible animal spotter.

Climbing Coba Ruins: A Perfect Cancun Day Trip

When I got to Mexico I didn’t really know what to do in Cancun.  Like at all.  I knew there were beaches and Chichen Itza, but not much else.  I decided to skip Chichen Itza because it looked so busy and not as rugged, then I found out about Coba and went with a couple other people from my hostel.  We decided to rent a car and go on our own, which was actually pretty easy.
