Next up in my few museum posts is the Harn Art Museum at the University of Florida in Gainesville!
I went here when my friend Danny came to visit Gainesville (I don’t remember if I’ve mentioned him by name before, but there’s a good chance if I go to a museum, it’s because he’s visiting).
I had wanted to visit the Harn for a while and since we planned to visit the Natural History Museum next door, it seemed like the perfect chance.
We probably spent an hour or two here wandering through all the exhibits, enjoying the art.
The exhibits vary depending on when you visit. Some are there for a few months, and sometimes a few years.
They come from the Harn collections and are sometimes on loan from private collectors, artists, and other museums.
It was a surprisingly large museum with way more to see than I expected. I thought it would be smaller and more student-focused since it’s at UF, but I was definitely wrong.
I don’t really think there were any exhibits I didn’t like, some I liked less but were still really cool to see.
As always in posts like this, I’ve added thoughts occasionally in photo captions.
