I finally have all of my Moab rock art posts up and can share this one, too!  These are some of the best petroglyphs in Moab because of the subject and accessibility.

All of these are easy to get to and some of them are pretty unique and bucket list worthy. There are so many more petroglyphs in Moab that I want to see, so I’ll keep this updated.

If you’ve been here a while you’ll know it’s not shocking that I had no idea what the Sego Canyon Pictographs were basically until we were going.  I had heard of Sego Canyon earlier this summer but didn’t really know what it was.  We decided to go last minute after the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail and I’m so glad!

One of the last rock art stops on our little Moab trip was the Intestine Man, one I was very excited about for a long time.  I didn’t realize how easy it was to see though for quite a while.  I finally got to see it and it was just as cool as I was hoping!  This is a great stop on your way to or from Canyonlands or Dead Horse Point State Park.

Welcome back to my “things that aren’t hiking” series.  This series highlights activities in national parks that aren’t hiking.  Some easy walks may be included, but they are all easy according to the park website and under one-mile round-trip.

Landscape Arch Hike: One Of The Best Hikes In Arches National Park

One of the most iconic arches at Arches National Park, aside from Delicate Arch, is Landscape Arch!  Have you ever read arch more in one sentence?  This is the really long, skinny arch you see on the park maps that you get at the entrance.

I had hiked to Landscape Arch on our winter road trip, but it was a pretty gray and icky day so I wanted to go back when it was sunny and what better time than our four days in Moab!  Plus, it’s just one of those bucket list worthy sights.

As you know if you’ve been here a while, I love seeing all things dinosaur.  Over the last two years, I hiked the Trail Through Time in Colorado, saw the tracks on Potash Road in Moab, saw one at Rainbow Bridge, saw some near Butler Wash, and went to the Mill Canyon tracksite.  Well, this year I had the chance to do a couple more dinosaur activities in Moab, this being the Copper Ridge Dinosaur Trackway.

A last-minute addition to my Moab rock art bucket list was the Moab Man petroglyph at the Golf Course Rock Art Site.  I think I actually had the Moab Man on but Utah bucket list but didn’t realize it was so easy to see.  So one night before dinner, with a little spare time, we decided to head out and see the Moab Man and his beautiful earrings.

Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail: Easy To See Dinosaur Bones In Moab, Utah

Last year we made it to the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Tracks, but it was way too cold and windy to do the Mill Canyon dinosaur bone trail, so I went on our end of the season Moab trip instead.  While you don’t get to see full bones just sitting out, you do get to see quite a few of them still in the rock along the trail.

As you know, the theme of my last trip to Moab was rock art and the Bartlett Rock Art was one I was very excited about.  These pictographs are Barrier Style, a style that was featured on Ancient Aliens (if you know which episode, please let me know in the comments!)  The figures look kind of like robot aliens and I love them.

At the end of this season, we spent a few days in Moab with my parents and the theme of this trip was rock art.  While the Moonflower Canyon and Birthing Rock Petroglyphs weren’t the very top of my list, they had some tough pictograph competition, I was very excited for the Birthing Rock.

This year when my parents came to visit, we kind of kept up the theme of visiting ruins and rock art.  Last year we saw Butler Wash and House on Fire, this year we visited the Upper Sand Island Petroglyphs in Bluff before seeing tons more in Moab

Edge of the Cedars State Park is kind of like the Anasazi State Park Museum in Boulder, but bigger.  I remember every time we drove past the sign for it I just thought well, that looks like a terrible state park because I had no idea what it was and I’ll be real, the landscape in that area isn’t the best.

But then I read Finders Keepers and I had to go.  So when my parents came to visit and we had a day of ruins plan, I figured this was the perfect addition to the day.  As usual, you can always skip down to the bottom for more of the how-to info.

After driving past the Anasazi State Park Museum in Boulder, Utah probably 5+ times a summer, last year I finally decided it was time to visit.  I had recently read Finders Keepers and I became slightly obsessed with seeing ruins and anything related to them.  The Anasazi Museum sometimes called the Anasazi Indian Village is on the edge of Boulder and great to visit on your way through from Capitol Reef.

I feel like every time I do a new hike at Capitol Reef, it’s my favorite and things were no different on my first visit of the year.  Our plan was to drive Cathedral Valley Loop and camp a night out there, but as usual, things changed.  Our new plan was to hike Cohab Canyon then get salsa and ice cream at the Gifford Store.
