The Cunningham Cabin trail is actually more of a stroll than a hike.  The only way I would call it a hike is if you had to park in the lot closer to the road than the one by the cabin.  Even then, it’s a paved road and very flat.  Either way, whatever you call it, it’s nice and worth it if you have a spare 45 minutes.

Exploring The Hot Springs Bathhouses

I can’t get over how bathhouses looks.  It’s just so weird.  I love them.  Ok, I’ll pretend I’m over it now.  You probably read about hiking in Hot Springs already, if not, click that so you can!  This time, I’m going to show you the bathhouses (still weird) of Hot Springs National Park.  I figured I wouldn’t have another chance to visit this park and after reading about it, we decided to go because how often will we really be going through Arkansas?  I’ve already mentioned how cool of a park this is, but I’ll go into it a little more here.

Hiking Great Sand Dunes National Park In Colorado

This was one of the most difficult physical things I’ve done.  Sound ridiculous, right?  I mean, I climbed a volcano, I’ve hiked to Delicate Arch, I’ve snowshoed on the side of a mountain, and I couldn’t make it to the top of one of these dunes.  Well, I need to get in shape.  Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado is extremely cool, and probably underrated.

Yellowstone National Park is the American Dream.  Well, not really, but it is one of the most iconic national parks in the US.  It was, after all, the first American national park.

I finally made it there on a trip to Jackson and the Tetons in the summer of 2016.  It was a quick trip and we didn’t get to do as much as I would like, but do we ever?

LOOKING FOR THE BEST DAY HIKES IN GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK?

When I visited Grand Teton National Park in the summer I won’t lie, I didn’t love it.  It was sooo busy and we didn’t do too much hiking.

However, after working there the following winter, I fell in love with the park and find myself thinking about it more often than not, especially as I was looking for the best hikes in Grand Teton National Park.

LOOKING FOR THE BEST HIKES NEAR JACKSON LAKE?

At the end of July, we went on a road trip up to the Tetons and Yellowstone.  Day one was spent at Jenny Lake and hiking to Hidden Falls, Jackson Lake was day two, followed by a day and a half in Yellowstone.  This was my first time in this area and I loved it!  I loved it so much I went to work there that winter.

I like to think I’ve done my fair share of National Park exploring over the last year.  Some parks I did hiking, others I just had time to drive through.  Today, though, I’m sharing my favorite hikes in National Parks around the US.

Return to Rocky Mountain National Park

I went back to Rocky Mountain National Park!  And this time I knew what to expect.  It was the end of November, and we were on our way back to Utah, then Wyoming for the winter.  The Rockies were our last exciting stop before starting work again.  We set off from Fort Collins with mountains on our mind.

The Other Side of Zion: Kolob Terrace Road

On our way to Vegas we had a couple extra days before we really needed to be there.  We decided to explore Zion a bit.  This was my third time there, but I still haven’t done Angels Landing or The Narrows.  Our plan was to do at least one of those.  We got there, mid September, and it was SO busy, we would have had to park outside of the park and take a shuttle in.  We just weren’t having it.

LOOKING TO HIKE TO HICKMAN BRIDGE AT CAPITOL REEF?

After driving through Capitol Reef a couple times and exploring the south end a little bit, it was time for a proper visit to the scenic road in the north.

There is the highway that passes through the park and the 10-mile (one way) scenic drive near the visitor center taking you further into the park.
