While it has been a while since I went to Ecuador, I found my old packing list and decided to put it up here.  Every time I cleaned my room while I was home I would find the list (written out!) and say I’m going to make this a post, I never did.  Well, now and I am and you’ll know just what to pack for Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands in January.  Since Ecuador is right on the equator, this parking list may work for most of the year.

This isn’t going to be the ultimate packing list with literally everything you should bring on a national park road trip where you’ll be doing a lot of camping.

It’s geared more towards the gear (hah) that you’ll want to have with you.  I will include some clothing, but I’m leaving the basics (shirts, pants, shorts, underwear) up to you.

Why I Travel Carry-On Only

On my first few international trips, Germany, New Zealand, and Ecuador, I brought along a giant suitcase that I probably could have fit in myself full of way too much stuff that I never used.  It wasn’t so terrible on those trips because I didn’t really have to carry the suitcase around myself.

Once I would need to start carrying everything myself though, I knew I wanted to travel lighter and with a small backpack and I became a carry-on traveler.  While I love the backpack I have, they don’t make it anymore.  I think to make it work and not hate it, you’ve got to find the best backpack for carry-on travel.

What To Pack For A Fall Road Trip In The USA

You’ve probably noticed with the last few posts that I just went on a little southeast US road trip.  We had no idea how long we were going to be gone, but it ended up being 9 days.  I think.  I knew we were passing through South Carolina to go to Congaree national park, spending most of the time in North Carolina, and stopping in Savannah on the way home if we had time.  I figured maybe five days when we left, but it then I thought maybe longer.

The Perfect Packing List For Taiwan And Japan In The Winter

Before I left for Taiwan, I had no idea what to bring.  I had no idea what the weather was going to be like.  Hot and cold.  Helpful, right?

I also didn’t know I was going to Japan until I was there, which didn’t help either.  One last thing to make it difficult, I was going to the Philippines after, so I needed clothes for pretty much all weather.

It was a while ago now, but I like to think I did a pretty good job packing for Central America.  There were a few things I could have improved on, but for my first big trip, I didn’t do too bad.  BUT I’m here to help you plan for your trip now.  I’ll break it down into clothes, toiletries, electronics, and other stuff so it’s a little easier to follow.

Slovenia Packing List

So, I have a lot of stuff.  Especially clothes.  This makes packing hard for me because I just want to bring it all.  I come up with too many “What if’s” when I’m packing.  Like way too many.  I tend to go through the list of “Oh, maybe I’ll want to go out one night” or “What if the weather is totally wrong and I need three pairs of pants and a sweatshirt and boots on the Galapagos Islands?!”  These questions make packing hard.
